I was talking to my friend and he narrated an incident hearing which I immediately decided to make a blog out of it. As usual oru mega bulb incident thaan(en friends enna maadhiri irukardhula aacharyam enna?!!)
He had gone along with two of his friends to Forum. He wanted to get a gift for one of his friends who was married. He always believes in gifting some useful item than some showpiece or wall-hanging. So when he was searching for an apt gift he saw kitchen gloves. He immediately picked them up and saw the price. It read Rs 200. He was satisfied and walked towards the bill counter. With credit card in ur hands any purchase is just a swipe away!! As usual, he passed his credit card across the counter. The person at the counter looked at him in a peculiar way, smirked and said that credit cards are valid only for purchases above Rs150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The price of the gloves was just Rs20 and he had read the “dot” wrongly.
He narrated this to me when we were dining out at a restaurant. After we finished eating I offered to pay but before I could take out the money he took his card to pay. The waiter took the card and the bill. While waiting for the waiter to return, my friend was explaining about how useful the card was and how easy it is to purchase goods without having to carry lots of money around. Just then the waiter returned and informed my friend that cards are accepted only if the bill amount exceeded Rs200 and we had eaten only for Rs185!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a good laughing fit that day.
